The Ultimate Springtime Film Selection
A spring-inspired selection of films that capture the essence of spring with cozy, nature-filled vibes and gentle storytelling.
As the seasons change, I always feel a little shift inside me, that shift when a new season rolls around – it’s like my body and mind have to adjust to something fresh. And honestly, I feel it pretty strongly each time. Change can be a little scary, especially when we’ve gotten so used to the rhythm of the season before. A new wave of fresh, different air can feel a bit unsettling because it pushes us to find a new balance that works. There's something about welcoming a new season that just feels so refreshing. I love embracing the energy each new chapter brings. For me, one of the best ways to settle into a new season is by turning to films and TV shows that perfectly match the vibe. It helps me set the mood, get cozy, and really immerse myself in what the season has to offer. Especially the ones with those cozy cottagecore vibes – they’re just made for this time of year. Spring, with its fresh blooms and gentle sunshine, always brings a special kind of magic.
I’ve put together a little collection of films that capture those cozy cottagecore vibes – the kind of movies that make you want to grab a cup of tea and get lost in the beauty of nature. Let’s get into it!!
The post might be too long to read in the email, so I recommend checking it out and enjoying it from the app!
1. Pride and Prejudice (2005)
What’s about?
Set in the early 19th century, Pride and Prejudice follows Elizabeth Bennet, a witty and independent young woman, as she navigates the ups and downs of love, family, and society. When she meets the aloof and seemingly arrogant Mr. Darcy, sparks fly, but misunderstandings and pride get in the way. As the story unfolds, Elizabeth and Darcy’s connection deepens, revealing that first impressions aren’t always what they seem
5 Reasons to watch it:
The landscapes are so beautiful, you'll feel like you're inside a postcard! The green fields, the elegant estates... it’s like a visual treat.
The tension between Elizabeth and Darcy is so real, you’ll be rooting for them the entire time (even when they’re being complicated!)
The film is packed with witty lines that will make you smile every time Elizabeth speaks. She's clever, sarcastic, and not afraid to speak her mind.
Elizabeth is that girl who doesn’t need anyone to feel complete. She's strong, independent, and with a heart of gold.
Even if you’ve seen it a hundred times, Pride and Prejudice is one of those films you can’t get enough of
2. Lady Bird (2017)
What’s about?
This movie is all about Christine "Lady Bird" McPherson, a 17-year-old high school senior who's trying to figure out who she is while juggling the chaos of growing up. She’s got a love-hate relationship with her mom, dreams of escaping her small hometown for college, and is figuring out love, friendship, and what it all means. It’s that rollercoaster of trying to be independent while still loving (and sometimes butting heads with) your family. A totally relatable coming-of-age story with all the awkward moments, big dreams, and emotional highs and lows we’ve all been through.
5 Reasons to watch it:
Whether you're a teenager or just remembering what it was like to be one, Lady Bird’s journey through high school will hit you right in the feels.
If you’ve ever had a complicated relationship with your mom (or any family member), you’ll totally get the dynamic between Lady Bird and her mom. It’s messy, funny, and heartwarming.
Lady Bird’s first crush? So awkward, sweet, and cringy in all the right ways. You’ll probably find yourself cringing with her—and it’s perfect.
The film mixes laughs and tears so well. You’ll be laughing one minute and feeling all emotional the next. It’s got that perfect balance.
Saoirse Ronan shines as Lady Bird, and the supporting cast (hello Laurie Metcalf and Timothée Chalamet) makes everything even better. It’s like a dream team of actors you’ll want to watch over and over.
3. Marie Antoinette (2006)
What’s about?
It’s a fun and vibrant take on the life of the infamous Queen of France. The film follows Marie Antoinette as she’s whisked away to the lavish Palace of Versailles, where she’s expected to be the perfect queen. But instead of fitting into the rigid royal life, she spends her time partying, shopping, and basically living her best (yet totally chaotic) life. With a killer soundtrack, lots of colorful fashion, and plenty of drama, it’s a modern twist on history that’s as stylish as it is scandalous. You’ll be glued to the screen, watching her navigate the ups and downs of royal life—complete with cake, of course!
5 Reasons to watch it:
The music is a mix of modern tunes and old-school vibes that perfectly capture Marie’s wild journey. It’s like an unexpected party playlist for a queen.
This isn’t your usual historical drama. It’s got a fresh, stylish twist on a real-life story, making history feel surprisingly modern and relatable.
Seriously, this movie makes you want to eat cake while watching it. It’s a deliciously fun ride with some iconic moments that you’ll remember long after the credits roll.
If you love over-the-top, gorgeous fashion, this movie is a total treat. The costumes are beyond, and you'll probably want to steal Marie’s wardrobe (but maybe not her life).
It’s packed with all the drama you'd expect from a queen, but it’s served with a big side of fun and rebellion. Who knew royal life could be this chaotic?
4. A Bug's Life (1998)
What’s about?
A Bug’s Life (1998), one of my childhood comfort movies, is a fun animated adventure about Flik, an ambitious ant who’s always trying to do things his way. When his colony is threatened by a gang of grasshoppers, Flik sets out on a mission to find some "warriors" to save the day. But instead of fierce fighters, he accidentally recruits a bunch of circus bugs. Together, they come up with a wacky plan to stand up to the grasshoppers and save the ant colony. It’s a story full of laughs, heart, and a whole lot of tiny heroism. You’ll root for the underdog (literally) and probably never look at ants the same way again!
5 Reasons to watch it:
Flik and his circus bug crew are the sweetest, funniest group of misfits you’ll ever meet. You’ll fall in love with them all, from the tough ladybug to the clumsy stick insect.
The circus bugs bring all the laughs with their goofy antics and hilarious personalities. There’s never a dull moment!
The animation is so colorful and fun, with the little bug world being brought to life in the most creative way. It's a total visual treat.
t’s the ultimate story of an underdog (or under-ant, in this case) taking on the big guys. You’ll be cheering for Flik every step of the way!
Beyond all the laughs, the movie’s got a great message about teamwork, believing in yourself, and standing up for what’s right—even if you're tiny!
5. Peter Rabbit (2018)
What’s about?
This movie is a cheeky and fun-filled ride with Peter, a mischievous little bunny who LOVES to cause chaos in Mr. McGregor’s garden. After his father’s bunny antics, Peter’s on a mission to keep his family well-fed—even if it means stealing veggies from the cranky old McGregor! Things get even wilder when McGregor’s younger relative, Bea, shows up to tend to the garden, and Peter has to figure out how to win her over while still being his mischievous self. It's a hilarious and adorable adventure full of clever tricks, fluffy bunnies, and plenty of laughs.
5 Reasons to watch it:
If you love adorable animals doing cute things, you’re in for a treat. The bunnies, especially Peter, are so sweet you’ll want to cuddle them all!
Whether you're a kid or just a kid at heart, this movie has something for everyone—charm, humor, and a bit of bunny magic!
Beneath all the mischief, it’s a heartwarming movie about family, friendship, and the power of being yourself (even if you're a troublemaking rabbit).
Peter Rabbit is basically the king of mischief. His wild antics and pranks will have you laughing out loud (and maybe wishing you had a bit of his rebel spirit).
Peter vs. Mr. McGregor is the ultimate funny feud, but add Bea to the mix and it’s a whole new level of hilarity. Watching them all try to outsmart each other is pure comedy gold.
6. The Secret Garden (1993)
What’s about?
This is a magical adventure about a curious and spunky young girl named Mary Lennox. After being sent to live with her mysterious uncle in his huge, eerie mansion, Mary stumbles upon a secret garden that’s been locked away for years. With the help of a few new friends (including a cheerful robin and a very grumpy boy), Mary works her magic to bring the garden back to life. As the flowers bloom, so do her relationships, and she discovers a world of secrets and healing that she never expected.
5 Reasons to watch it:
The garden is like a character in itself—watching it transform is like watching a little piece of magic unfold right before your eyes. It’s like nature’s own fairytale!
The garden isn’t just about pretty flowers—it’s about healing and growth, both for the garden and the people in it. It’s a feel-good reminder that sometimes, nature knows exactly what we need.
There’s something so fun about uncovering all the secrets of the mansion and garden. It’s like you’re right there with Mary, solving puzzles and finding hidden treasures
The movie has all the right amounts of charm, adventure, and wonder. It’ll make you want to go find your own secret garden and make it your happy place!
From Mary’s grumpy new friend to her unlikely allies, the bonds formed in this movie will warm your heart. The friendships are truly what make the magic happen.
7. Hope Springs (2012)
What’s about?
Hope Springs (2012) is a lighter, sweet and funny movie about Arnold and Kay, a couple who’ve been married for over 30 years—but their relationship has kind of hit a sleepy, routine lull. So, Kay decides it’s time for a change and convinces Arnold to join her at a quirky couples therapy retreat with the eccentric Dr. Feld. What follows is a delightful journey where they try to spice things up, rediscover each other, and maybe even laugh a little more.
5 Reasons to watch it:

9. Sense and Sensibility (1995)
What’s about?
This is a delightful tale about two sisters, Elinor and Marianne Dashwood, who couldn’t be more different in how they approach life and love. Elinor is all about practicality and keeping her emotions in check, while Marianne is passionate and wears her heart on her sleeve. 10. Babe (1995)
What’s about?
Babe (1995) is the cutest, most heartwarming piggy tale you’ll ever see! Babe is a little pig who, against all odds, ends up on a farm where he’s surrounded by sheepdogs and farm animals who think pigs should just, you know, be pigs. But Babe isn’t your average pig—he’s got big dreams! He decides he wants to be a sheepdog, and with a little bit of charm, determination, and a lot of cuteness, he proves that anything is possible.
